LAGARDÈRE STUDIOS, JEAN-CHARLES FELLI AND CHRISTOPHE TOMAS JOIN FORCES TO CREATE SAVE FERRIS STUDIOS

Lagardère Studios is joining forces with Jean-Charles Felli and Christophe Tomas to create SAVE FERRIS STUDIOS, a company dedicated to French and international fiction. They will produce original content for digital & SVOD platforms, television and brands.

This new alliance will further strengthen Lagardère Studios’ position in the audiovisual world, and in digital platforms in fiction.

“For 17 years, Jean-Charles and Christophe have developed a unique expertise through their many high-caliber productions. Their network of talent, their innovation and their audacity are invaluable assets for adapting to our changing market.” says Christophe Thoral, president of Lagardère Studios.

“We are proud and delighted to be joining the team at Lagardère Studios, say Jean-Charles Felli and Christophe Tomas, managing directors of Save Ferris Studios, “where we will be investing our creativity and expertise to help our creative partners and colleagues flourish.”

About Jean-Charles Felli and Christophe Tomas:

Jean-Charles Felli & Christophe Tomas have been creating and producing audiovisual content for 17 years.

Jean-Charles Felli kicked off his career at 22 as head of marketing at BEST magazine. Hired by Columbia, he worked at Sony Music for 8 years where he quickly rose to become marketing director in charge of the company’s French catalogue (Jacques Dutronc, Indochine, Julie Zenatti, Nadiya, 3éme Oeil, Stomy Bugsy and others).

At 21, Christophe Tomas began writing for the weekly cultural magazine “7 à Paris” before joining the writing team at BEST magazine. In 1993, he was hired by Sony Music, where he created the Krypton Records label dedicated to heavy metal, hip hop and urban electronic music. Passionate about pop culture, his proposal for a “Culte Fiction” magazine in 2000 was picked up by France 2’s “Laboratoire d’idées” [ideas lab] kickstarted by Michèle Cotta.

In May 2000, the two friends cofounded Save Ferris Production. They ventured into fiction in 2006 with Les Super Communs for NRJ 12 and cult series A bloc (with Thomas VDB) for MTV. Jean Charles Felli also landed his first credits with Brice de Nice, producing all content outside the film.

In 2007, they produced Kaira Shopping, a Canalplus.fr web series that quickly became a generational phenomenon. Jean Charles Felli developed the license by creating original content for all formats (TV, radio, film and web). In 2008, Pepsi became the brand’s exclusive partner and bumped these web writers and actors over to film. Les Kaira was the most profitable French film in 2012, grossing over a million at the box office.

In 2012, Save Ferris Production became a subsidiary of Havas Média France, in charge of its fiction branch, until June 2017. During these five years, Jean-Charles Felli and Christophe Tomas produced, among other things, the series Pop 1000 for comédie+, Dans La Bouche for Le Supplément, FRAT, the first digital series produced for CanalPlay, Brutal, Surf Therapy, Deep and Dragon Race, all international digital series co-produced with Studio+/Vivendi, Les Francis coproduced with Thomas Langmann & Mars Films, the special broadcast L’anniversaire de Jacques Dutronc en Corse for France 2, and original formats such as Les Petits Concerts for MTV and the Close-Up series focused on international artists for Deezer.
